Cahors – Last ‘Rotary Weekend’ 13th/14th Sept + New Kids!

This year involves three Rotary organised weekends, the first was in the Pyrenees, the second at Perpignon and the last at Cahors. It was the weekend for getting to know everyone. I tell you what, it feels weird being the old exchange kid now! On the 27th we received 14 new exchange students in district 1700, they joined us at the weekend away. (more…)

My Rotary District here (1700) held its annual conference last Saturday, the 15th of March, in Perpignan. (Perpignan is a town of about 100 000 people sitting near the Mediterranean Sea, South East of Toulouse).

Croissants, Coffee, Foix, The Pyrénées and a Chien

Last weekend I headed off on my first Rotary Event – a bus trip down to the Pyrénées (the mountain range that divides France and Spain). It’s about one and a half hours by bus. The weekend is designed to prepare the outgoing French kids and their parents for the coming exchange (though the parents only attended the luncheon on the Saturday morning).
