Un Hamburger d’Australie!

C’était la temps de montre comment on mange en australie… et quelle mieux qu’une hambuger avec ‘the lot’?

Dedans: Steak haché, laitue, tomate, oeuf, bacon, oignon, fromage, betterave, ananas et ketchup!

(Meat, lettuce, Tomato, Egg, Bacon, Onion, Cheese, Beetroot, Pineapple and Ketchup!)

PS: Juste 40 jours jusqu’à je partir!

L’Espagne!!

Le weekend dernier (29/11/2008) J’était en Espagne à Figueres. Une petit ville pas bien connu juste sud de la frontier entre la france et l’espagne. L’artiste Salvidor Dali vient d’ici et c’est ici où on peut trouve sa gallerie d’art.

Dedans c’est completement malade mais genial à la meme fois. Il était une artiste très forte. On a passé quelque heures là avant partir pour Perpignan (pour shopping!) et en fin pour rentre ici à Toulouse. J’aime bien l’espagne, mais quand nous sommes aussi près à la frontier tout le monde parlé en français (c’est dommage que je ne peut pas pratique mon espagnol)

Les amis vien à Toulouse

Pendant les vacances scholaires Niall, un ami d’australie, est arrivé à Toulouse pour quelque jours. J’ai lui montré ma ville et ma vie ici. Quelque semaines plus tard, Chris, un deuxieme ami d’australie, est aussi arrivé et lui aussi a vu Toulouse et ça qui pass ici. C’etait genial d’avoir les gens de chez moi ici

Un ‘Roadtrip’ de le sud de la France

Sur le 10/11/2008 je suis parti avec ma famille d’acceuil pour un petit tour de la France. On était dans le Lot, vers 200 kilometers nord de Toulouse. J’etait à Montvalent, Martel, Collonges la Rouge et avec des parents de la famille Charazac qui ont une ferme pour les canards. J’avais bien mangé et Alain a m’appris Chabrot – quand on melange le vin avec le soupe. Juste avant partir on a trouvé un petit boulangerie bien caché dans le région. Apparement là bas le pain est comme un religion. C’était le meilleur pain de ma vie! (Dommage que c’est trés dure a trouvé!)

Hola (oui, español)

Il n’y a meme pas 50 jours en France avant que je partir, (j’essaie d’arrêter à compter les jours qui reste) Donc à partir d’aujourd’hui je vais ecrire en français est seulement français. Est aussi parceque maintenant il y a plus les français qui lire cette page qu’avant.

(pour les gens qui connaissent la Français mieux que moi, n’hésiter pas à me corriger – merci)

Family Visit

My parents came to France 10 days ago and I met them in Paris. We spent two days there before heading to Toulouse on the third morning where we lived in the centre of town for eight days. I got to show them a slightly more realistic side to France and we visited families, friends, Carcassone and Albi. It was great to see them here and also marked less than three months until I go home – so I’ll be seeing them again soon!

If asked what they did I think they’ll say “we ate a lot” – almost every day involved a meal with some family that would be several courses that would leave us saying “I’m never going to eat again”. It’s a tough life here

Update on Host Families

Now that I’ve moved to my last host family I can give an update on the host families in general – due to multiple factors I’ve now lived on just about every side of Toulouse! I’m now staying with my third and last host family, the Charazac family in Castelmaurou (North East Toulouse). I have two host sisters, one studying full time in England and the other in my class. My host dad is really into guitars and has a rock star haircut to match.. it’s the host mother who keeps the family sane.

My second host family – with whom I stayed during the Summer holidays – were the Mateos family. They were a lot of fun but I probably only spent a combined time of two weeks there. They lived in Southern Toulouse. I had two older host brothers who helped out with my French but who spent a lot of time at the Fac (Uni).

My first host family, the Troncs, lived in Pibrac, North West Toulouse. I had an older host sister and an older host brother, both of whom studied in other towns but visited on the weekends. It was with this family that I got to learn the most about France and find my feet in a new country, so I think I’ll always think of them as the best – or at least the most influential – host family (the other families were still amazing). It was here that I took up VTT (Mountain Biking) and developed an addiction for cherries (we had four mature trees and three growing trees in the back yard that proved more than enough every day).

Due to weekends away, holidays, trips and last minute changes I’ve also lived with other families, two in Toulouse, two on the beach, four during the Canal du Midi bike trip, two in England, all for less than a week, but all of whom were amazingly friendly and hospitable.
